No. Most of our owners come from sales, operations, management or military backgrounds. BooXkeeping University teaches you the model, and our in-house staffing support can service your accounts while you focus on growing the territory.
Item 7 of the February 19, 2026 FDD estimates a total initial investment of $77,546 to $84,046 for a start-up franchisee, including a $60,000 initial franchise fee and a refundable $5,000 security deposit. If you already run a bookkeeping practice and convert it, the estimate is $53,046 to $68,296 with a $45,000 franchise fee. It's a home-office model, so there's no retail buildout, no inventory and no heavy equipment.
Item 19 of our 2026 FDD discloses average gross annual revenue of $138,276 and average annual gross profit of $83,942, based on 2025 financial data from corporate and franchise locations. Your results will depend on your market, effort and execution.
Your territory is a defined market of no fewer than 500,000 residents by the latest U.S. Census, drawn along contiguous ZIP codes or counties, and sometimes an entire state depending on density. We won't change your boundaries during your term, and you keep them when you renew. Territories are not exclusive: Item 12 of the FDD discloses that more than one franchise may be awarded within the same territory based on population, and that other owners may recruit and service clients located in your area. Because bookkeeping is delivered remotely, you can also serve clients well beyond your own boundary.
Not you, unless you want to. BooXkeeping recruits, hires and trains dedicated BPO staff who service your clients under your territory, so you can focus on selling and relationships. Some owners also build a local team as they scale. Either way, the brand-standard process and the BooXDesk platform run the work.
Your first year is scaffolded: three months of accounting school, six months with no minimum royalties, nine months of sales training with a live trainer, and twelve months of executive coaching. Most owners are meeting prospects in their market well before that first year is up.
Yes. CPA firms and accounting firms receive 25% off the initial franchise fee. Veterans, active military and active military spouses receive 15% off.
Yes. Bookkeeping is delivered remotely, and most owners start from a home office. What matters is your presence in the local business community, not a storefront.
A 10% Royalty Fee and a 2% Brand Awareness Fee on Gross Revenue, both subject to mandatory minimum payments. They fund the technology platform, national marketing, the enterprise-account program and ongoing coaching. Full details are in Items 5 and 6 of the FDD.
